Hi all . Need ya help again!

New tank coming tomorrow that I will have to cycle. To speed it up I'm going to use some of the bacteria from my existing tank. I also want to transport the sand from existing tank along with the real plants and add 25% of the quantity of existing sand with new sand. I've pre washed this new sand. Have Clhorine control at the ready for new tank. I was thinking of filling tank and treating the water before adding some of my filter media as to not kill bacteria. How long should I wait? Also gonna do a water change 30% on current tank. Add this water to my new tank too. Add some stress Zyme+ in the mix aswell.

I have my old gravel that's been out of my tank 2-3 months that I wish to put back in my old tank when taking the sand out for new one. What should I do to prepare this gravel as its been in a bag for a couple of months?
Also how often should I test water when cycling this way I have test kit ready?

Are there fish in the old tank? Are they going into the new tank? What are the sizes of the tanks?

If I am understanding your plan you are going to basically uncycle your old tank in order to cycle the new one.

Will still be using old tank not all fish are going into new tank. Basically I've been giving an idea from here (TFF) when doing my next water change ring out some of the filter media into dirty water then let it set for about an hour, scoop out the top 2/3 so left with a concentrated dirty water. Then mop it up with new filter media. So I'm ok waiting for new tank to cycle I just want to speed it up as much as possible without un-cycling my old tank.

Using dirty water won't do much, you would be better off transporting the used filter media straight into the new filter. You can take up to 1/3 but 1/4 is better.

What to do now. I've added all my sand from existing tank. All plants and the bog wood. Also cut a piece of the filter media and put that In. Not much thou. Should I just leave it running for a while? Tested water so I have a starting reference. When should I next test? What else should I do?

when cycling a new tank i always do water tests every other day it is a good way to measure the progress
