Hi Menacer,

So far this looks like a good start on the ammonia drop. Have you tested pH and nitrites, yet? Those would be good to see. What is the current tank temperature?

Will test PH and the other one now, well im a bit confused about temp, my heater says 32 but by thermometer read 27?

My heater dial settings never match up to the thermometer. But hopefully you can get them close!

Where is your heater positioned? For the heat to be evenly distributed, it should be placed almost central and diagonal.

PH look above the highest ph by about .1 or .2 so reading at about 7.7 - 7.8

So i did a high ph test: 7.8

Nitrites: 0.50 ppm

Good deal on the tests. Once ammonia drops to zero for the first time, you might want to start logging nitrite levels at the same time you test for ammonia. And keep tabs on pH every few tests to make sure it is not crashing. My signature has a checklist for the fish less cycle in case you need any reminders.

That is exactly how i positioned it buddy ;)

Do you have a stick on thermometer? They usually aren't as accurate as traditional or digital thermometers as they actually record the temperature if your glass.

If your thermometer is accurate however, simply turn your heater up a little as the accuracy of it must not be as reliable as you think. :)

Its a glass stick with a sucker on the inside of the tank?

Those types of thermometer are generally more accurate, I think your heater may be slightly incorrect when it comes to setting it to the desired temperature. What I would do is turn the heater up a little and see what happens. :)

Ok thanks so i should go by my thermometer and not my heater? Any feed back on my nitrites please?

Your nitrites are fine. What you will find is that as the ammonia levels drop, the nitrites will start to go up and even reach the point where they cannot even be tested. You get a weird color result.

We are suggesting that you go by the thermometer and ignore the dial on the heater. Just set the heater and get it to the desired level on the glass thermometer.
