There been alot of talk in the newbie section about weather or not using the probuce Cycle works. So i thought I post here, to see what everyone thought.

I personaly think it does'nt do anything, and is a wast of money.

what about everyone else??

i wouldn't spend my money on it. if it was that good, we would know about it! I think it has some kind of stress coat in there to help the fishes immune system so maybe that's why they can still sell it!

It does work, but not good enough for me or any other aquarist. I did a controled test with it and it will remove nitrite and nitrate but not very well with ammonia.

Has anyone tried just soaking the filter cartdrige (can't spell today, sue me :p ) in the cycle stuff and some water? Maybe it would make it get right into the cart. and produce the growth in it faster? Worth a try....

Once I was cycling 2 tanks at once. A 5 gal and a 10 gal. I put cycle in the 5 gal and not the 10 gal, and they cycled within a day or 2 of each other so I don't really think it does all that much. Besides, the directions say you have to use a maintance dosage of it every week or something like that to keep levels down. That alone IMO makes it not worth it. Why buy something that is supposed to do what a good old fashioned water change (that is cheaper) does ?
