It's on the bogwood, the plants and the gravel . I am trying to shift it manually, scrubbing the wood, and gravel vac'ing the gravel. Am putting in an airstone tonight. Anything else I should be doing?

Tank is 70ltrs- 4 corys, 1 platy, no ammonia or nitrites, weekly 25 % water change as general maintenance routine.

removing it manually is the only it will go away
i would rinse off plants, wood and gravel that has been in contact with it

cynobacter is a bacteria
therefore any anti bacterial medication will kill it.
A course of Myxazin will do.

I have also had success (at work) by adding a 2pence piece to the filter.

If it is cyanobacteria try a blackout as a first attempt. Especially if there's not much.

You can't get hold of maracyn (antibiotic that works on bga) in the UK.

Are you certain it's cyanobacteria? Do you have a picture?

This might work same as wolf has mentioned, as you can't get maracyn in the uk or the antibiotic named, only prescribed by a doctor.

This med has to be procribed by a doctor in the uk.
Erythromycin

Sorry to sound so stupid, :*) , but what is a 2 pence piece made of? :dunno: Is it copper or nickel? You just got my little mind a wandering is all and was wondering if it was the same as our copper penny.

Was thinking it was a neat little trick.

Thanks!

older coins are made of pure copper, newer ones(post 1990) are a copper nickel mix.
