Looking at my tank last night I noticed a tiny little thing whizz past, managed to get it in my net and realised that it was a baby guppy. Trying to get the lid off a fluval tank, hold the net with the guppy in it and also trying to put in my breeding trap all at the same time is no mean feat let me tell you!!! lol
Just as I got it in the trap 4 more came out of a plant to have a look at what I was doing!!
When I put the net in the water the little darlings all swam in! So I put them in the trap also. Then I noticed 'daddy' was trying to nibble something and realisded that it was another baby, so managed to net that also. I am now the proud 'mama' to 6 baby guppies! yay! Tough little buggers cos earlier that day I had been rearranging my tank and moving plants and ornaments but never noticed the babies. ( I had lost the mother the day before )
Anyway with a smile on my face
I went down to a lfs to get some fry food, didn't have any so decided to have a nosy at his tanks while I was there, thats when I spotted that he had some lovely widows but on closer inspection I saw that they were all dyed! Some red some green and some blue. The dye wasn't even very good cos it was patchy! I said to the owner 'are those fish dyed?' (knowing full well that they were!) yes, he said, I told him it was bad for the fish but all he said was well people buy them and walked off!!!!! Luckily I don't go his shop much cos his tanks are usually crappy! He was also selling some Pengasus sp? catfish, thought these got huge? Certainly wont be going there again!
Well it was a good day but spoilt by money greedy pet shop owners! Sorry to go on but you can see I was very annoyed by this!
