Iplanted a few elodea densa a while back and now a couple of them are over 2ft long
Could anyone please tell me how much I can prune them backand can I grow another plant from the cut bit?
Thanks--my lfs owner knows loads about fish but naff all about plants!

The normal method is to cut off the top section ( a good few inches ) and remove the old cut section, and then replant the top section you just cut off to replace it, and this will root and grow as normal, this is how a lot of aquatic plants are pruned, particularily stem plants.

Thanks Zig
Ive just noticed one has a shoot at the bottom, then it divides into 2 about a foot up and then divides in two again after another few inches?
Will I cut at the base of the shoots?

Yeah that would be fine, the stuff grows like crazy anyway :)
