Hi guys.
I got something I really need to get off me.....

I'm so p***** off with my LFS. I went there today to get some plants and while the shop guy wondered off I had a look at the fish....and I saw some fish in a really bad condition...and I mean really bad

One of the dwarf gouramis was particularly bad, half chewed away and near death....I watched it sink to the bottom of the tank and lay on the gravel on its side whilst gasping for air

I told the shop guy about the fish and he asked another guy who worked there to have a look at the fish....so he did....wandered off....came back after a minute with a fish net and I thought he'll put the poor fish out of its misery....
I stood a bit further away back at the plants to tell the guy which ones I wanted but looked back to the tank where the poor fish was in....
And what did I see?!!? The guy went in with the fish net and GAVE THE WATER A STIR AS IF IT WAS A CUP OF TEA!!!!! Shut the lid and walked off!!!!! I told the guy who was getting me the plants about it how out of order that was....all the fish in there.....aaaaarrrrggghhh I was so angry..... and he just said he'll sort it out and got all rude that it was non of my biz...... so I asked for the manager.....apparently he was not there....and he was so annoyed with me in the end that he got the fish out himself walked away with it...came back and asked: "Happy now?"

Ohhhh, I nearly kicked off but my boyfriend grabbed me and pulled me out of the shop......I shouted after them that their manager will hear about that...but really....it seemed that what they did was custom there.....so I don't know what to do.....I'm just so angry......

Well....I definitely won't be buying anything from this shop ever again

......

Please watch your language. This is a family oriented fish forum. Omitting letters in order to by-pass the bad word filter is an offence as well.

Definetly tell every fish keeper you know about that shop. Complain to the manager and threaten to take the matter higher if conditions dont improve. A bit of evidence is always handy.

I know I though afterwards that I should have taken some video evidence!! But I'll definitely contact the manager...this needs to be sorted....

Some fish shops don't deserve to be open..

In bolton, UK

There is a shop called Dave's aquarium, where they put quarantined fish in with other fish for sale....

I was like whaaaaaaa?

took my plants and left...

and the thing is.....its not like they could have sold the fish...the poor thing was in such bad condition......I just don't know what goes on in someone's head to stir the water like this, not only torturing the ill fish further but also possibly harming and definitely scaring the other fish in the tank.....

The posts on this thread were originally part of a thread in General Chat. Since fishy subjects are not posted in that section, they were made into this thread. However, running down an lfs is not a subject that we encourage in Tropical Discussion either. All too often we find that such subjects deteriorate into troll fests that result in no good for anyone.
