Curious about Ich

I have been into fish-keeping for a year now, and thank the gods, have never had this problem that has afflicted so many others.

However, I can't be the only one who have never had ich or an ich outbreak. I would like to hear and compare notes with other people who have also NEVER had ich.

Your thoughts please......

I've never had ich, either. I am also a big opponent of the never-ending ich myth (just check some of my old posts).

My tanks are heavily planted, lots of caves and driftwood to help the fish feel safe, I use an old 10 gal with a heater and a penguin mini filter to circulate the water and aerate it and heat it up to near the tank temp for my water changes.

Basically, keeping the fish as stress free as possible and quaratining them I have never had ich. But, I do have medications in the closet for just-in-case. Since Murphy's law says the outbreak will happen late Friday night before a holiday weekend.

In my younger years I never had ich ever.

I decided to get back into aquarium keeping a month ago, and had a horrible ich outbreak - thus, I foudn this site. I didn't even know there was such a thing as ich.
