i gave my wee fishies some cucumber the other day and they munched it up, what other household products are there that I can feed the fish on. I know you can give them peas.

I have a bala shark, four guppies, three x ray tetras, and two danios

i think the are all herbivores.

Dunno about the fish you have, but I know my Clown Loaches love banana!! :D

also worth noting that Danios prefer to be kept in small groups. You might want to look at getting a few more for the gang if there is space in your tank.

As yet I'm not sure what other household foods to try.......

L no plecs, bristlenoses and plecs definately like a thin slice of raw potato.

I too use cucumber, lettuce, cougette, shelled cooked peas.
It is amazing how many fish like cucumber, Uaru's and kribs go daft for it! :D

Can they really eat apples? I thought no fruits, or was it just citrus fruits??? Mine just love cougettes/zucchinis. :)

I have fed (and they have liked) lettuce, cucumber, banana, grapes, peas

I peel the grapes ( ) and banana (obviously) and feed direct. With the peas, lettuce and cucumber I blanche them (helps them sink as well as soften the flesh) and then I crush the peas to break the skin.

i was reading a book and read that some for carniverous fish you can feed them chicken and all sorts.
