USA,
theyre double rays and are only 3.95. isnt that kinda cheap for them? Do you think that maybe theyre not real CT's? I do remember people talking about ppl. cutting bettas tails to make them look like bouble tails, a long time ago.

its possible they have some CT/DT genes. i've been seeing similiar at my petcos. i got a lovely almost CT there last week, and last night i picked up a guy with slight CT attributes, but not a full. i'm guessing theyre "culls" that weren't culled and instead were just shipped off with the vt mutts..................... but no matter to me, theyre still lovely, my bettas don't need to be show quality perfect :D

but6 thses one says CT on the cup, and are definetly CT's, they have the long rays etc. and I think they were black, it just seems to good to be true

It would take an awful lot of time to cut a betta to look like a CT. If they look like ct's, then they probably are.

yes-crowntails have been on the petsmart order sheet for a few weeks i believe.
we have had 2 shipments of them so far. and we just got a second shipment of female bettas in too :)

of course i get first picks and i found a few with gorgeous finnage. :D i saw a few hm cts too (but no colors that i was interested in)

well keep in mind petsmart will probably order what ever they can get for real cheap so they can make a decent profit, 3.95 does sound cheap but im sure they'er authentic. they may have shorter spiikes or smaller fins because they have other kinds of geno as well but no ones gunna cut up a fish and then sell it for 3.95, its juts not a good idea. i wish my petco would sell cts but all iv seen are very pathetic male vts -_- they do trear their bettas awfully here now to

you know cts and vts cost the same thing...
its the value WE place on these things that get the prices upped.

all of our bettas are only 3.49...vt or ct. females are 1.99 though :)
wierd that they are more in some places

Up here in Canada the female Betta's are under $3 and the males are under $6, so that's about the US prices you quoted I imagine. What the heck, a gorgeous fish is a gorgeous fish...I say grab 'em if you like em! Good luck!

I guess I'm very lucky to live here in the Philippines when it comes to the hobby, fish stuff is a lot cheaper here in comparison to yours (though the import ones of US brands are expensive).

Our LFS bettas are roughly about 50 US cents for a veil (and I've seen females at about 20 cents), and a little less than a dollar to 1.50 for CTs. Will be posting a pic of the new one I got yesterday in another thread. :)
