Hi

I have a crptocoryne beckettti, when i brough it a year ago it was green, it slowy went brown and is all brown now.

What care do i need to give this plant? Is it ment to ber brown.

I'm not too sure as to why the color has changed but Crypts are heavy root feeders. Try adding some root tabs under it.

Some crypts are brown in color. Does the leaf look like it's deteriorating? If not it should be fine.

In addition, many cryptocorynes can be grown emersed or even in bog conditions. When placed in the home aquarium, there may often be a change in leaf color and shape. If the leaf is still robust to the touch and there isn't any obvious crinkling or holes in the leaves, then the plant is probably fine. They also can change their leaves to different lighting levels. As it was said before, however, they are heavy root feeders and always benefit from the addition of rootabs.

llj
