I had some lovely, large, healthy Cryptos, (Wendetti brun and green) I decided to do a complete re-vamp of my tank and made a most critical error, I moved them. Over the next two weeks saw them "melt" away to a shadow of their former selves. I have been expertly informed that they will grow back (I sincerly hope so). But it was so disheartening to watch. I should have done a bit more research on them and I have learnt my lesson. I am posting in this section to alert other members what to expect if they should want to move their prize Crypto's.

I don't consider myself an expert , but have had crypts [ many] in tanks for about 10 years now , have witnessed melts [ caused by treatments , and replanting ], have also seen them grow back too ..........hang in there :)

Thats a shame. I must have been lucky with mine. I had a clump of crypt. undulata that was too compact and dense, so I pulled them, seperated the plantlets (2 or 3 leaves), trimmed the roots and re-planted. They never once looked bad.

I sincerely hope they come back for you.
