I recently started an aquarium and went to the LFS (a new one having had terrible advice from Pets at home). They seemed to know what they were talking about and advised me to get some plants that could handle the local water and didn't need intense lighting. (I have one 24" tube in a 100 litre tank.)
They advised me to get two food supplements for the plants. One is called Crypto by Tetraplant and it is a tablet that is crushed up and put in the substrate at the plant roots, and the other is Plantamin (same company) which is a liquid to be added to the tank. The shop assistant said I should use both at the same time.
Was this advice good advice? I am terrified of doing things wrong as LFSs seem to get a bad press on these forums.
