Combtail veil. Possibly a cross with a crowntail. The fin extensions aren't long enough for a true CT, but they are definitely enough to qualify as a combtail. Very pretty girl you've got there! How old is she?

There are no ray extensions in her anal fin but the caudal has a little, which looks more combtail than crown. She a gorgeous colour....very pretty little girl :good:

She's my favourite. I wanted to use her to breed with Robin(Quad Crowntail), but I didn't want to use a Veiltail. Maybe I will consider her...what do you think?

she looks like she could well be a delta tail, the parts missing on her tail dont help in saying this though but at the base of the tail there is a triple ray, yes worth spawning her if going with a VT male :good: , i wouldnt say she has crown in her as a direct gene passed from one of her parents but it looks like its there is the history though.

Thanks...I was thinking of using her with Robin, the quad crowntail. She's the closest to his size, and seems to have the best personality. The other option is a Crowntail, but smaller than Robin, and that worrys me...

OK...Opinions needed!!! All help would be appreciated!!!Should I breed my Quad Crowntail male(Robin) with the little girl in the picture(possible Combtail or Delta) or use a dark blue Crowntail...

Honestly, speaking as One Who Knows Nothing, I'd say, go with the Crowntail - you want to reproduce multi-rays if at all possible and veils have the least number of rays, so however pretty that little girl may be, she's vastly unsuitable for the noble Robin.
(Blood will tell, my girl...)
I have only that one little female bought with all the problems, and as she so slowly improves, she's suddenly sprouting extensions at a rate and length that surprise me, as I hadn't been sure how much fin was eaten off by the horrible black stuff - and I seemed to be the only who even thought the poor little thing - sold as a male and as some sort of wild type, lol - was a crowntail.
Never know what you're getting in pet stores...

And a couple of weeks pre-breeding conditioning may produce some rapid growth in that Crowntail, as she's possibly very young?
Hopefully, an expert will step in.
I'm being selfish, of course, because if I can possibly manage it, I'd like a baby Robin that takes after dear old dad.
Plenty of Veiltails already around - we need more Quads!

But if I breed Robin with this little girl(in the pic) I don't think I'll get veiltails......or am I looking at this all wrong. If fry take after dad, they will be Crowns...Mom's contribution will be Comb tail...so maybe a mix of each. I love the pale blue, and should look nice mixed with the red and the Robin egg blue that Robin has???

well problem is that most opf the babys would take after the less fancy type, vt is more dominant so the babys realy wouldnt look like robin at all. as for color, mixing them could result in reds blues or a cross,, i usually match the pairs up as colsly as possible to get the kind i want,, a doublt ray ct female or more rayed the better would be the best choice, or even a normal ct female cause that way even the lest desiralble,,< lest fancy> babys would still be cts instead of a cometail mix..

OK....so it's back to the Blue Crowntail. I can't wait to get this project started...at least I won't be changing my mind every two days!!!
