Been having some bad luck with my crowntails lately. Are they more intolerant of the water conditions than the other bettas? My last one, was fine when he was in the 5 gallon tank. I moved him to a 1 gallon to prepare him for the wall tank that my boyfriend made me. He only lasted a couple of days. Water in the tank was from cycled tanks, but he laid around all the time and didn't want to swim anymore. Am I just having bad luck with crowntails I buy or is there something else about them I don't know?

as a rule one varity shouldnt be more sickly thatn others, although most fish can carry some type of illness or deises and they can just be dormant till a stress makes them more sectabale, maby the stress of the move buged him? when you do move makle sure water is same temp and ph casue large changes in ither can bug them, i gentaly scoop a fish out in a clear cup then placwe the cup in the new tank for 15 miits,, tehn pour fish out...

also, do youi get all ur fish from the same petstore?,, maby the fish at the store are all a little ill and if you buy from somewhere else theyd be a little healthier, a nice breeder would be nice, and that way you know the fishes age too... bettas only get 3 to 4 years and if you get a nice big boy from the store he could be 1 or 2 allready,, maby more??

and from my own experecnes older more sickly fish get ill faster when stressed?? mehh just my 2 cents :good:
