Hello all I am new to this site. ive been trying to find some info on
a problem my betta has so if this is repeated elsewhere I apologoze.
Here is my situation I have a MALE crown tail betta that is sick, He just lays on his side floating. unless I tap him he doesn't move. I have him isolated rght now in some meds I bought for internal infection. He does not have any white spots he just looks bloated. I have not feed him for 24 hours but he has been like this going on a week now and still just floats, The water temp is 81 degrees and have been changing 25% of the water for the last 2 days.
Now that I think about it I have not seen him go to the restroom, im assuming he is constipated or swim bladder. Does anyone have any suggestions or advise?

Feed him a pea, cook it and shell it, sqiush it and put it in.

I'm interested in knowing whether this helped. Mine currently has a bacterial infection and is eating at most 1-2 pellets a day (sometimes nothing at all). I'm medicating it w/ Maracyn Plus, which seems to be helping, but he has yet to get his appetite back. Frozen brine shrimp and live blood worms have had no luck.

Can someone tell me how much iodine salt to feed my betta. My poor betta isnt doing good at all he just floats there, we tried feeding him peas for 2 day and he hasnt touched it, he hasn't even went to the rest room any suggestions please.

His stomach looks very bloated. Are the scales poking out at all? If so, I am afraid it is dropsy and then there isnt much you can do. I think you should post in the emergency section right away.

Best of luck,

Drew

We just checked to look at his scales and he passed away

:rip: Im sorry to hear that.
Sounds like dropsy (essentially organ failure) to me, nothing you could have done.
No other fish in the tank right?
