ive got a 37lt tank with 12 neon tetras (1 now crippled  ) 2 Male guppies and 1 female guppy and a fighter fish.

Anyway i put the guppies in with the tetras today and not too long ago we found 1 of the tetras squished inbetween the filter, and now its got a crooked back(it cant swim properly but its still breathing plus its on its side).

Also i think 1 of the guppies is nipping the tetras fins? Do they do that?

Is their something i could do about the crooked backed tetra? right now its in something else, its not in the tank, i took it out because 1 of the guppies tried to nip it.

EDIT: had a look at it just then and it looks like it bent itself back together but its tail doesnt look too functional... if i put it back in the tank it would probably be nipped till dead, soo ill leave it and see how it goes tomorrow morning

is it swimming ok yet? If it is then it can look after itself, but if not then its probably kinder to put it to sleep.

i had a look in the morning and its back end was more straighter and it was nicely kicking

i put it back in the tank, if something does have a go at a tetra ill know which tetra it was.

EDIT: not that long ago i saw the fighting fish nip the tetras fin, guess which neon it nipped...
.. yes the cripple

i moved the fighter into our spare fishbowl

EDIT: the crippled tetra looks exhausted trying to swim with hardly no fin, and it seems like its going to die soon, its sideways up top but still breathing...

Awe, hope it all works out now that eveyone seems to be sorted out!!

well you can only hope the fish will make it! if it has started to make progress like you said im sure he will get better! did you look at your filter so that wont happen to another fish? i had the same thing happen to me which resulted in it dying. Good Luck!

It seems alright now. just it doesnt have much of a tail fin nomore so it cant really swim properly or it doesnt actually get anywhere.

and its also sometimes on its side , maybe its tired?? is there a way i can make its fin grow back quicker?

Get yourself a hospital tank s you can put the injured fish into it. That way you won't have to treat your entire tank just for 1 fish being sick/injured.. ya know?
You could buy some medication that will help it's tail grow back and make sure it doesn't end up getting finrot. Maybe Melafix.. or some other type.

Hope the lil guy gets better!
