So I'm reading around, and notice a conversation about creeping jenny. I was always under the impression that creeping jenny was a ground cover pond plant (pond brim) that spreads.

Is this the same kind of creeping jenny they keep in aquariums?

Or just the same name used twice?

I understand plants can be used in different environments, submersed and not, but is it the same plant?

If so I may be able to get a hold of a mass amount of it for real cheap...

Lysimachia nummularia (creeping jenny) and yes, they are one in the same plant. It is a marginal plant that thrives in ponds, ditches, and marshes. It grows in the aquarium, but slower, or so the literature says, and may stop over time. Lysimachia is often sold in South Florida as a garden plant, and I have grown some in the past and kept some in an aquarium.
