Thinking of making a moss wall for our 10 gallon. Has anyone tried the method explained in the following link?

I've seen this on at least one other site as well. Seems like a good way to do it.

My question is, has anyone done this? How did it work?
Also, what type of moss would be best for creating a lush wall? We have a bunch of unused java moss floating in our hospital tank right now. Would something like Christmas moss do better?

Anyone have personal pictures, too?

Thank you much.

Very interesting! I will learn to make one too... But will observe and research first before doing it. :)

I made one about a week ago for my very low light 10 gallon, using java moss, because I had a ton of it just balled up in a couple of my tanks. The java moss growing on the coconut cave is going crazy with growth but the wall isn't growing much at all. It looks terrible in the tank right now! There are a couple little tiny shoots beginning to peek out of the mesh but otherwise it is just mesh. Not as much growth as I was hoping for. I used clear mesh but I should have used black because the clear shows up really bright in the tank. We'll see what happens.

Another thing, I was surprised how much moss it took to cover the mesh the size of the 10 gallon tank. I used a HUGE mound of moss and it is about as thick as that in the picture linked to above. It didn't seem like it would take so much to cover it so sparsely.
