Crazy thing happened

The other day I was cleaning my fluvol 204 when I noticed something "swimming" in the bucket I use siphon my dirty water into.
The water is like mud, the mopani and plant litter really take their toll on filter media!~

Anyways, back to the "tale", I carefully started to run a small net through the water until I caught the fish, turns out it was one of my zebra danios.
I have a fluvol or aquaclear surface skimmer, the "skimmer" itself sometimes sinks into the water and no longer floats at the top and I have to grab it and pull it back up.
I figure it must of swam into it, or over it and it got pulled through!
That or it jumped for freedom and luckily landed in the bucket!!
But I'm sure I would of noticed it, as I was looking into the bucket the entire time!

Anyways, I put it back in the tank and it looked fine, two days later she's ok still.
I've found guppy fry in my aquaclear filters before, and once found another guppy fry in one of those 3 gallon "waterhome" tank filters too!

Anyone ever have something like this happen?

I've never had a fish go through the siphon, but I've come close on many occasions. Danios for what ever reason are beyond curious, and I've had them end up in the end part of my gravel vac. I just make sure I am always watching that tank while cleaning it.

I've sucked up plenty, platys, angels. Vacced out my first pygmy cory over the weekend. Just toss them back in, no worse for the wear.

I don't sihpon fish up into the Python since the majority of the time I use it with a piece of flyscreen over the intake part.

As for fish in filters, all my fry end up in the AC filter, alive at some point. The clown loaches used to take daytrips into the AC filter regularly but are now too big and once I found an adult platy in my fluval filter....DON'T ask how it got through the impellor but it was fine!!

I've sucked up my cory before, bu8t he was ok. I didn't see him again untill 3 days later, at dinner time. I think he got mad at me, went on a hunger strike, got hungry and gave up

i sucked up a neon before. its died a day later
