Hi Everyone,
I just started a 20 gallon tank, and today I put my first fish in, Silver-tipped Tetra's. When I put them in, they started to stake out their territory, chasing away any fish that got close to them. Each Tetra found it's own spot, and chased anything that came near it! A few hours later, though, the fish seemed to have pared themselves. Now my six fish are in three pares. They are still aggresive to other pares.
But the problem is, I will be adding Cardinal Tetra's to my aquarium in two weeks- do you think the Silver Tips will totally gang up on the Cardinals?
If yes, then does anyone have any idea what I should do???
I will keep you poseted on the latest developments,
cheers,
Zophie

I have silver tipped tetras to and they were doing the same thing as yours. I have neons in my tank and at first they chased them around a bit but now they just chase each other around. Every so often i will see the female (the duller colored one) get chased to the top of the tank with the male following and some eggs fall. They are the only tetras that have bred in my community tank.

yeah, they're starting to calm down a bit. They really love to play tag. They also body-check each other. Is this normal?
One more thing. I am planning to get a breeding pare of German Blue Rams. Do you think the Silver tips will nip there fins?

Oh, one thing I just nticed. I tried to sex them, and from my knoledge (not very much), I think I have four males and two females. The two female's are hiding in opposite corners of the tank, and the males seem to be fighting in the center.
That is proboly why theres so much aggresion.
Any idea's about the GBR?
