I just installed a sump filter that included a built in skimmer. I have several of these on tanks and have never had this problem. When I turn the air hose valve that controls how hard the skimmer is running the valve leaks out the open end like a tiny garden hose. It does not stop if the skimmer is running at all. I can just leave the pump on but can not open the valve to make the skimmer run without getting a puddle or a bath. I replaced the air line tubing thinking it might have a hole. Nothing stops this water from coming out the end. I can't turn the skimmer on at all because of this. Anyone have ANY ideas?

:(

I personally havent seen this type of setup, but is the water return pipe from skimmer blocked or restricted at all?

On my skimmer I had water coming out of mine and was because the micro bubble trap was restricting water outlet!

HTH

Hmm. Not seen these either. Pic's might help. Two things come to mind. Either compare it to one of your other ones for any noticeable defects. Secondly, take it back to the shop for a replacement.

Hmmm...I will check with the shop I was hoping this has a quick fix. :(

This is pretty much it except it only has one input from the tank.

Well, the only thing I can think of is that there's a small blockage in the air line preventing the skimmer from applying enough negative pressure on the end of airline to draw air inside it. This solution kind of sounds nasty, but try opening the valve and blowing into it with your mouth... Might force a blockage out and allow air to flow again

And, anyway you can get a more closeup shot of the skimmer section?
