Crazy Idea For Adding Nitrates

I have a 10 gallon planted tank and a 72 that's stocked with large fish that produce a lot of waste. I was wondering if I could take some of the water that is taken out of the 72 during water changes and put it in my 10 gallon for nitrates or would that be bad?

You could but you'd not have any clue about how much you'd be adding, and EI works best if you a consistent with your dosing.
