My dads tank is crawling with snails so he went to the LFS yesterday to do something about it - he came back with two clown loaches! The tank is 17l! :S Apparently the guy at the fish shop didn't think to ask what size tank he had!

Anyway, hes now gone away for the week on business leaving my mum - who hates the fish - to look after them! She went in this morning to feed them and one of the guppys is dead. She called me up not knowing what to do so I told her to take the guppy out and do a water change (and to get rid of the loaches!).

She did the water change and rings me back to say that one of the guppy's is acting really strangely. She sent me a video (apologies its from an iphone!) and I'm really not sure if this is strange behavior after a water change or not? I don't know guppys that well.

What do you recon?

They really are beautiful aren't they :(

Tank stocking is
4 harlequins (I can't remember!)
2 guppies
2 shrimp
2 clown loaches :)S)

Its 17l

The clown loaches need to go back, they are total unsuitable for a 17l tank, you'll need to test the water stats to see if there's anything un-toward going on there...

Doesn't look normal mine never do that after a W/C. Plus the idea of getting clown loaches for a 17l tank is a little bit crazy :S they don't even fit in a 15gal hexagon tank. It's not your fault and i suppose it's not really your dads fault either though.

Sorry but yes the clowns way off the mark there, Botia sidthimunki which is a dwarf only getting to 5cm would be much better.

The guppy looks ok just over active sure it will cool down once it's settled down after the water change.
