would a small crayfish be ok in my 20g guppy tank?
it has 2 corys in it also so would they fight each other?
and last would the crayfish nip at the guppies when they sleep on the bottom of the tank?
but there is alot of rocks and drift wood and other stuff it can hide under.

the crayfish is less then 1 inch long.

I kept a blue cray in a tank with guppies and cories and had no problems. But i had ALOT of bogwood and caves fro the cray. Just as long as you keep the caves you should be fine.

ok thaks.i origanly had it in my pond had no clue how it got there.. cleaned the pond and found it in there. its really healthy and has been in my tank in the garrage for a wile. would love to put in my tank in my room with my guppies as it has more light so i can see the colors on the crayfish...my other option is my community tank but it has a big angel in it that would probably snack on it a bit.

does anyone else have any experience or info if this would work or not?

It should be okay. Cray fish, if well fed and have places to hide, will only attack slow moving fish with long fins like Angels.

Personally I wouldn't recommend it, I had a few guppies in with a crayfish, the crayfish made short work of them :(

If he does any damage you can always take him back.

Most domestic crayfish are pretty mellow and wont bother your fish. But wild caught crayfish are some what agressive. If it is wild it may attack your corys, but guppys move pretty fast for the most part. Id suggest just keeping an eye on him and see what he does.

ok thx everyone. like i said it has to be wild caus i found it in my pond and i didnt put it there. but its only like 2 cm long and 5 seconds after i put it in there it went for the rocks and i havent seen it since. must be hiding. il keep checking evey once in a wile to make sure everything is ok.

I have a blue crayfish in my 28gallon tank. I also have mollys. The mollys are fine, Not a mark on them.

I had a fantail goldfish in there too... He was fine for 2 days then I noticed a small part of his tail missing, I thought it could have been anything since it was so small. Got home from work today to find the goldfish with NO fins except the dorsal fin, It couldn't even balance and had open flesh wounds. I had to let him move on to see the big man upstairs as soon as I seen his condition.

Alough I must say my crayfish is 4 inches long.

Do keep a close eye on him for the next month if not longer because once he gets comfortable is when he will most likely become most active and possible aggressive.

be careful as the guppies sleep on the gravel and he ould easily nip a them whilst they are down there.

my guppies normaly dont sleep on the gravel. they sleep on the big slate rock and wood and plants and stuff i got in there. trust me i have checked alot... you now what i meen and i no you all have done it also. ( use a flashlight to see how fish sleep)
