Crawfish In The Quarantine Tank?

Seeing as most of the occupants of my 10 gallon died, I have been thinking about putting the remaining occupants (2 WCMM) somewhere else (possibly upping thier number to 4 and putting them in my 26 gallon) and using the 10 gallon as a quarantine/hospital tank. I would like to keep it set up, and have occupants in it that could be moved to a different tank or something when I need to use it as a quarantine/hospital tank. I have always wanted a crawfish, and was thinking that I could have one in it, and put a divider in the tank when I needed to use it for incoming or sick fish.

Would this be ok (supposing I found a species of crawfish that would be ok in a 10 gallon tank)?

I am worried that the crawfish could rip the net somehow, and I was wondering if the crawfish would keep the tank cycled, so that incoming or sick fish will be put into an already cycled tank. I also don't know if the crawfish could get sick from fish?

If its not a good idea, what are some other interesting choices for the hospital tank? (Fish/whatever that I could put in one of my other tanks temporarily when I need to use it for sick or new fish.) I am kinda bored with bettas, so I would perfer to go a different route.

The ten gallon has sand and some fake plants, and a HOB filter. The tank the 10 gallon's occupant(s) would go in temporarily would probably be my 26 gallon that has danios, cories, and a gourami. I could always use a breeder net for the 10 gallon's occupant, if it wasn't compatible with the 26's residents.

thing is all except one crawfish, will have trouble living in a tropical tank. they need a lower temp.

two things with the hospital tank, crawfish are badly effected by some fish meds, and unless you can use a solid divider, it will get out.

finally 10g may just be big enough for one small crawfish. but not any other fish

Ah, oh well. Onto plan B... not sure what that is, yet, though.

Maybe you could use brine shrimp to keep your tank cycled and then when a fish gets sick you can put it in the quarantine tank and put the brine shrimp in your main tank to be eaten by your other fish.
