I think there is a topic on them but I can't find it. Can you use those polished stones that are used in crafts? They come in a little net baggie that say they are polished river stones.
I've used these stones before - just boiled them in a pan for an hour and all should be good.
Although don't take my word alone on this matter as I'm unsure of the exact stones you want to use, which may be covered in something that is toxic but doesn't 'boil off'.
I think those stones would be fine, as they are either epoxy resin coated or are polished, either way they are probably OK for a tank. I would however do the vinegar test, i.e. chuck a load onto the stones, if the fizz don't use them think it indicates lime or something, either way it'll affect the tank. You might want to give then a good wash first too.
However, if in doubt I always use stuff specifically for aquariums then there are no problems. Most shops do a huge range of gravel and pebbles to suit all tastes
