You don't specifically need an airstone, but you do need a cycled biological filter of some sort, this will provide adequate aeration anyway

Red claw crabs do need a decent area of land to come out onto though - preferably more than half of the tank, and they need slightly brackish water. This means using marine aquarium salt - the stuff used in reef aquariums, not just regular rubbish 'freshwater aquarium salt', which is just over priced sodium chloride.
Kept in any other conditions the crabs live a much shorter life, and very often have complications moulting their skin. If the water is too acidic, you will notice little holes in their carapace too.
