Is there a small type of crab that can live in a mixed tank?

I wouldnt keep crabs with fish - for a start you need somewhere for them to be able to get out of the water

That’s what I thought but my sons friend said he is getting them as the aquatic shop said it was ok, I said I was sure they should be species only but thought I would check here first, he also has shrimp, but wont the crab eat/hurt the shrimp also?

Crabs are escape artists too in my experience with them, i was forever finding them on top of the tank lol.
