Couple of questions.

Noticed in one of my tanks today when changing water ,black on the leaves of some plants, it came of when I rubbed it ,what is it and what caused it?


When your hoovering the tank out ,do you take all the plants out?

I don't know about the black, but I remember reading somewhere it could be excess iron (don't quote me on that).

As for moving the plants, I don't do that unless I need to re-aquascape or absolutely have to move them. My corys, kuhlis, and MTS do an excellent job of cleaning up the sand and keeping the areas around the plants I miss clean.

Moving your plants too much will lead to them dying... any debris that's left around the plants will break down and feed the plants

No wonder they aren't doing well,I keep yanking them out
