I Have been watching one of my platys lately because for the last few weeks she has looked hugh, so I am expecting some fry any time now. Well When I came home today I looked around the tank and I found 1 dead fry mixed in with some of my plants on the top of the tank. So I quickly put the breeder tank into the tank and started looking for the platy. To find out that It was a different one that wasn't quite as large, but you could see a fry fin sticking out. At the moment the one fry is doing fine mixed in with all the plants on the top of the tank, and the mother is inside of breeder tank. However I have couple of questions,
The first, she has been in the tank for the last couple of hours and all that I have caught so far has been poop. How long should I keep her in there? I think i read somewhere 2 days max?
The second which should be first. About a month ago, I had 2 extremely tiny fry, I have never seen fry that small before, think they might have accidentally slipped out. But when i put her into the breeding tank/net she started freaking out, so a couple hours later i released her back into the tank, and she was fine, no more fry till today. When I put her into the tank today she seams very calm, not really doing much at all which I think is a good thing. However the problem is the male platy who is always next to her, is freaking out. He keeps trying to swim into the breeder tank. Any suggestions on how to calm down the "father"??

Sorry for the long post, any info would be great. Thanks.
