Oh, dont know if you can see it in that picture but she has a white tip on her top (dorsal? Not fishy expert!lol) fin. Is this normal?! Hope it doesn't mean anything bad....

I'm not sure if it's normal or not, but it makes her look more like a shark! (I couldn't see the white tip until you mentioned it)

I have a rainbow shark, but don't know if it's a male or female. How can you tell?

Well, ive looked in various books and websites and most of them (that mention it at all) agree that in order to tell a male from a female you have to look at the tail fins. If you look at mine she has quite rounded tips to her tail, a male will have pointy tips. Pretty easy! Obviously i dont know this for sure, its just what ive read but it seems fairly accurate and if you look at sharks really closely you can see a clear difference in their tails... But only if you're looking for it ;) lol

And i think you're right, the white tip does make her look more like a shark!! :) i like it!lol

Oh, just uploaded some more pics from my digital camera and found this one!!! How adorable does she look in this pic?! I love her! :D  lol

 Great pictures Jess!

For your Red Tailed Black Shark, how about the name Ruby, or Scarlet because she has a pretty red tail! :)

I Like Ruby!! That suits her!! She shall now be called Ruby! :) Thank You!!!
