My mollie has a batch of fry about a month ago, we managed to catch 9 and put them in a breeding trap
They'd been in that breeding trap for 4 weeks then i decided it was only fair to get them a small tank to swim around in, as they were getting bigger and bigger everyday
I prepped the other tank, ran the filter in my established tank, then today decided to move everything over, i opened up the filter to some a couple of fry in the filter!!!!
They were still alive, one is very very tiny and the other is much bigger. They are all doing fine :flex:

Im abit worried about letting them loose in a bigger tank, has anyone else done this? We have 11 all together that are about 3/4 of an inch big, the filter shouldnt suck them in as the hole isnt big enough.

When can i start feeding them flake food? They are still on the baby stuff atm.

Sorry if this is in the wrong area, if it is can someone let me know and ill move it

Cut up a pair of tight and place it over the filter with a rubber band that should stop the fry getting into the filter, brimestrimp and bloodworms will fetch the fry on in leaps and bounds, frozen is best.

cool, also ive only just managed to get the temperatures to match with my old tank. Most of the water came from the old tank, so would it be safe just to take them straight over or would they still get PH shock?

I've never heard of cutting up tights touswe to fine your filter...good idea :D

If temp and ph match yes they should go straight into the tank, good luck.

Just released them, they are all swimming around and seem much happier, darting around, hiding in things and chasing each other.

Im glad i did it now, they went from living in half a litre of water to 25 litres of water and lots of nice plants to play in :D

Bless them, plenty of room for a good swim and play now, good luck with them, happy ending.

Get them on some frozen foods and veg, as to many dry foods can cause swim bladder and dropsy problems, mushed up peas are good.
