could someone please tell me save level of...

Amonia 0
NitrIte 0
Nitrate as low as possible, test your tap water and try to keep it at that level. If your tap water is 40ppm +, consider RO water if you can get it.

There are two ways of cycling, with fish and fishless. Fishless is the prefered way as it does not kill fish. Read the pinned posts (in begginers section), but basically, cycling is building up the beneficial bacteria in your filter and gravel. This bacteria will feed on ammonia produced by the fish and produce nitrite which in turn is used by yet more bacteria. The final product is nitrate which is much harder to get rid of, but not as harmful to your fish. Water changes keep the nitrates at a lower level.

As I said, read the pinned posts for more detail.

You're also attempting to change the pH, so I would suggest you do research before going ahead with this. The costs are much higher than any possible benefits. :/ Just get fish taht work with your tank specs.

It's in another post, in chit chat, I believe. Click on penguin's name, find all posts, and look for one where he mentions pH changes.

For easier searching, ctrl + f and type in 6.5. It shoudl pop up. ;)

Thanks TF, lost me there.

Why? is the question I dont see in your PH post.

6.5 is fine if its stable.
