i was told male and female but i think they are both maybe female

if so do i need to get two males to pair them up? one has already laid eggs as i think they was in a mixed tank where i got them from lol

You've got a Male and Female, the one in the first picture is the female.

oh good i thought i did and the fact they had eggs last week made me more convinced but for some reason i started to doubt it this morning lol they paired up straight away.

yeah i new the first one was female her belly was bright red last week could see it a mile off lol

agree with standbysetting. male and female. male in this example has longer fins and longer first rays on his dorsal fin. i.e in the pic with both together the femal is below the male and the male is showing off. He seems to like his lady! :good:

what specie is this? I really like the look of them!
it is Mikrogeophagus ramirez I believe known as German blue rams.

Gorgeous fish peaceful except around breeding time. Bolivian rams are also nice and golden rams

Rams are a very difficult fish to keep. They are very temperamental and very demanding of water conditions. I have heard many people say (and I agree) that they are harder to keep than discus.

They are not a beginners fish.

They aren't that hard. and they aren't nearly as hard as discus.
