Ive recently got a betta and 5 black neon tetras. im going to get some more fish because i have a 16 gallon tank and its very empty at the moment. my betta is a male but seems very peaceful and just floats around with the other fish and neither seems bothered about each other. ive read that males arent aggressive if they are kept with 3 females. I really want some more but dont want to get them if it will make it aggressive. what should i do? x

i personally think that you shouldn't mix males with females unless they're breeding . . .

if you want, put the male betta you have in a different tank . . .

then buy a group of females and start a sorority in your 16G along with your tetras . . .

but that's just my opinion :good:

good luck and keep us updated on your decision!

Usually the male won't be so aggressive if he is surrounded by girls... but sometimes the females will gang up on the male and tear him to pieces.
