Both me and my friend have been expericencing bad water quality from the city recently. Both our tanks have had deaths due to the water, or atleast thats what we think..
Her tank has a yellowish tint, and has serious algy, and she's been scraping it off 2 times a week.
One small live plant, little sunlight, about 2 hours of tank light. Its in the basement, so enough light comes through the windows, but not alot.

I've also been having deathing in my 10G, I can't keep any fish alive in it, except WC's.
I've not been having problems in my 55G, just my 10G.
Since this has been happening, I only take and replace 10% a week.

Is this just a coincidence, or does it have something to do with our water? We live withing a block of eachother or so...
Its not city water.
We live in Suburbia, so its water tower water, which I think is well water?

It could be. Many folks I know are supplied by the same branch of city water. Once or twice a year the water parameters change a little, due to Lake Michigan doing something called an inversion. It takes up to 8 weeks to straghten itself out around here.

Is it like the chlorien amount in the water?
Why is it screwing up?
Also, could this be Fueling algy?
