i have a 15 US gallon tank that has 4 cardinals (biggest is about an inch), 2 Juvi BN plecs (about 2 inch) and a small clown loach (only slightly bigger than the plecs) so i was wondering if there is room for either a few more cardinals, or a single small fish, as my tank look really beare, i have recently lost my 8 year old BN plec in there from old age and with out here it seems empty.
could i fit a few more cardinals in there?
or a small center peice fish?
thanks for your help

ok i think you should get rid of your clown loaches, why? Because they get12''+ and need to be in groups of 4+.
You could try a Betta?

You could add a couple more cardnals, or a dwarf cichlid as a centerpiece fish if you rehome the loach. It will get too big for that tank, and they like to be in groups.

i think you could add a few small fish maby. clown loaches get rather big, not like an oscar, but you know what i mean. so if there not full grown already, be ready.

EDIT: okey, maby they do get like an oscar... my bad... >_>

i know the loach gets big i have plans for him/her to go to a bigger tank, when it outgrows this one then i will get it a few friends to

Won't the betta kill the cardinals? I though bettas killed smaller fish?

depends on the betta i have done it with a few of mine before, a few years back, even kept one with angels and barbs with no problems

I think you could add a few more cardinals. Or maybe even a small gourami, like a dwarf. I'd add 1 more cardinal, then a dwarf gourami. That would be pretty, without adding too much more to the biofilter.
Just keep the vacs and water changes up very good, as the plecs are big waste producers.
