Hi there,

I knoe this is an out there question but Could I use sheep poo pelets as fertilizer for root feeders?

Regards Darren

I would worry about the ammonia in them (and the bacteria).

If you are desperate to use them then I'd suggest baking them first to sterilise them then dropping a couple in a mug of tank water, leaving for 12 hours and testing the water to see what sort of effects they have. Until you actually know what's in them you risk poisoning your fish.

I wouldn't bother with them myself - even cheap root tabs are likely to be better for your tank and easier to manage.

I heard that you could use rabbit poo as fertilizer in the tank, so why now sheep? I'll try to track down my sourse and get back to you.
