Would it be ok to re-add into the aquarium the dry salt that accumulates on the tops of the tank?

Firstly :hi: to TFF and the salty side of the forum :good:

You cant add undisolved salt to a tank, it burns.

How about introducing yourself and your tank, we are a friendly but nosy lot :p

I dont think you could, chances are that some of the minerals, elements would be used up so it would be of no benefit.

Thank you for the welcome. I have had my 30 gal reef tank running for 3 years, 2 of which without incident. Unfortunatly I had the priveledge of seeing first hand what Ich can do to a tank and how frustrating it could be, knock on wood everything has been running smoothly now for 2 years. The equipment I use is.. a fluval 305 cannister filter, and also a mellenium 3000 bio-filter, and another double filter just for added water flow. I also have 2, 105 powerheads for added water circulation. I am using t-5 lighting, and a 100 watt heater. I have roughly 30 pounds of carribean liverock, and 2 inches of live-sand along the bottom. Tank inhabitants include, 2 Ocellaris clowns, a bi-color blennie, a scooter blenny,a yellow-tail blue demsel, and a domino demsel. Inverts include, 10 blue-legged hermit crabs, a reef lobster, a sea urchin, and a brittle sea-star. Corals include 2 button polyp colonies, a cabbage leather coral, and a mushroom coral. all of which seem to be flourishing. I will post some pics A.S.A.P.
