could i put a puffer fish in a 50 litre tank if so what sort.

Not brackish but you could have 1 or 2 dwarf puffers in there They're freshwater completely and top out at an inch and a half, absolutely adorable little buggers.

Yeah you could easily fit 3 dps in there, as long as you're prepared to overfilter the tank and feed nothing but frozen and live food.
