Hey, I'm dying for a male betta and my lfs sells some gorgeous ones! I'd love to have a male betta but mum wont let me have any more tanks! I have 10 females in my 88L tank but is it possible i divide 20L off and add a male into that section?
Also im going into breeding next year so would be good to have a male around lol.

How many females have you got Jasmine?
If its 10 or under, i would say yes :) But im not an expert on female bettas. The male betta only needs min 15l. Wait for others opinions...Im not too sure :S

:)

you might be ok but then you would have 10 females i a 68l which might be a bit of a squesse but i would just give the once you have a couple on months and just check the lump things ok. when you do get one just make sure you put alot of plants along the divider so they can see each other.
:D

give the boy 18 litres hun (approx) and then save the 70 for the girls be perfect then

I'm having a bad time deciding which of my males i'm going to sell in 4-5 weeks - ARGH - giving me a headache

HaHa awww! :D Well the tanks 88L but i guess the filter and heater etc takes up about 8L or more?

just dont give him more than 15 litres hun - ladies will still be happy then

Ok then :D Well will onyl be getting him in a couple of weeks as need to buy dividers oh & check with my mum thats ok haha!
How do i know how much 15L of the tank is?
Also anyone got any ideas where i can buy cheaper dividers offline?

I've ordered my dividers, not arrived yet, so betta has full run of the new male betta tank atm!
I brought craft grids and paper binders from Ebay, worked out cheaper than the penn plax ones! :)
Worth looking there.

I'll have a look on ebay will only be able to get this betta about 2 weeks from now though.
Will get tank dimensions for you now xx

I keep my three of my boys in 3 gallon tanks - that's about 14 litres. They are cheerful enough, but I wouldn't go any smaller. Between 14 and 20 litres should be fine and you'll still have enough space for the girls, although you wouldn't be able to get any more.
