Could i keep 2 Bolivian Rams in a 10 gallon tank for breeding purposes only? I might have a 5 gallon to keep the fry in.

Edit- If not, are there any other colorful Cichlids that would fit in the tank for breeding purposes?

Good news, i found a 20 gallon long in my garage!

but this brings up another question:

Could i keep a pair of Bolivian Rams in a 20 gallon with this setup (permanently):

3 Kuhli Loaches
6 Peppered Corys
2 Cherry Barbs
Maybe 1 Dwarf Gourami

This time ill have the 10 gallon to keep the fry in!

???

Thanks

the cherry barbs are gregarious and need to be in a group of about 6+, id miss the the barbs but i think youl be ok.

Everything i have read and heard says that they are just as good in pairs or trios. I wont be getting the gourami.

Suggestion:
3 Kuhli Loaches
6 Peppered Corys
Pair of Bolivians

with
(not all pick one)
school of hatchets
gourami
shool of tetra
plattys/sordtails

if you didnt get the gourami, and maybe not the khulis, you could get the varbs.
there gregarious meaning there shoaling fish so need to be in a shoal of 6 or more.
dany

I've decided not to get the gourami.

Cherry Barbs are fine in pairs or trios. Here's an excerpt from An Illustrated Encyclopedia of Aquarium Fish:
A fish that likes to be kept as a pair, male and female. If more than this are kept they will each seek out their own space in the aquarium. Males are an intense cherry red when breeding, females are brownish red.

More recent sources that i have read say that they can be kept in trios as well.

corys can be kept by themselves nad pairs and trios whatever, but are social fish and is RECOMMENDED at 6+ you may find that the fish may become timid and hide all the time. you can get 6 of these in your tank with your rams.

ok, what about:

6 Kuhli Loaches
2 Bolivian Rams
6 Corydoras Trilineatus (dont know the common name, something like 3 striped cory)

wev got cherry barbs in a trio and there fine.. go 4 them.. some say u need 6+ but u dont :D they turn brick red when there happy as well :D
