The only things to add is a heater as these are tropical fish (unless live in really warm climate) and to watch the plastic plants as they may rip the fins.

Yes 5 gals is a good size to start off with. The safest bare minimum size IMO. You will need a heater, but you should get rid of the plastic plants and replace them with either silk or live ones. Live is best and works fine in a 5 gal. Cabomba and moss balls are really good easy plants to have.
I agree with Honeythorn when i started i was scared of live plants lol but after some guidance from Honeythorn my first tank is now fully planted with cabomba and elodia Radish and the kuhlis LOVE IT.
