Not with gourmai.

If you have space you could always set up a small tank and just have one in there, my preference would be 5 gallons and up so you could fit it somewhere else and its not too big :).

I have my 2 boys in a 10 and 14 gallon tank (just them with snails) and they really do fill the tank up :)

Confused because some people say that if the tank is big enough and they`ve got enough hiding places that the dwarf gouramis and the betta will be fine, have you owned both yourself?

From what I read they are cousins of Bettas or something like that. They both occupy the same top level of the tank and are agressive.

it's concievable that hiding places MAY work for some people, but I think it's more down to having got hold of two unusually calm fish, or a very very big tank!

As I said in the other thread, I have experience of keeping them together and although they TOLERATED each other, they were never happy and always ended up with injuries. That was in a well-planted 70L community tank. I wouldn't try it again.

Maisy trust me it doesn't work, i tried my Honey Gourami in a 30 Gal (so decent sized, heavily planted with lots of wood/caves!) and 5 laid back females and they went straight for him
