Could anyone identify this Cichlid please?

Definately a Malawi, almost certainly an Aulonacara of some sort....not too sure which though from the pic. :/

does he change color at all? my pseudotropheus does. He can go anywhere from the color of the pic u posted (solid dark color) to bright blue stripes like the one in Ferris' avvy. Very interesting fish if it is but mine tends to be the bully of the tank. Nothing larger numbers didnt spread tho. =]

Sounds like a Pseudotropheus Elongatus, I have 1 too. Can go from almost black to similar to the Demasoni in my pic. Great fish! :D

I've just come back from 1 week away and the little guys gone :rip:. He was only 1 inch long, just a juvenile but he'd been in the tank about 2 months. I've got a feeling my big Orange Blotch zebra had something to do with it, he looks guilty.

I've kept them before though and they are agressive fish, even by Mbuna standards, lots of character though and the colour changes are more pronounced that most Mbuna.

Thanks BigFishSmallPond! :(
