Could Anyone Help Identify Which Species Of Rainbow

Well got 3 Rainbow fish but not entirely sure what sub species it is .. any help would be cool.

i have two that look similar to the one in the picture; my gues is that it is, what was labeled, a crossing rainbow fish. just to verify that could you please post the details of the fish eg, size, ph acceptibility.

it might be advisable to repost this or get it moved to the rainow section.

Well at the moment they are about 2inches or so big the lfs said they would get to somewhere between 5 and 6 inches

PH donno the tank is 7.4 ish and they seem fine

Which forum is the rainbow fish forum cause I cant see one unless i am being blind a pointer might be nice

I doubt it's a bosemani. It looks more like a Goyder River (Banded) Rainbowfish - Melanotaenia trifasciata to me.

The other thing to consider is it is common for rainbowfish species to hybridize, making this pretty hard to be 100% certain.

i would say either the trifasciata, or female boesmani.
