i have a fantail goldfish with 2 small cotton wool like spots on it, they are raised and i am certain they are fungus, how do i treat the fish? i dont have a hospital tank

Size of tank in gallons or litres.
How many fish and which type.
Water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.

The raised spot how big is it and what colour is it.
Where are the spots.
Fungus can grow on dead tissue.

Please tell me you don't have all them fish in a 5 gal.
Also the 12 gallon tank is overstocked.
Clown loaches need 90 gallon tanks.

i dont test ammonia, nitrate or ph just nitrite

15 LITRES 2 GOLDFISH 4 WCMM 1 GAE
WATER STATS<0-3MG/L NITRITE
THE SPOT IS LIKE WHITEISH COLOUR
SPOTS ON ROOTS OF FINS HEAD AND TAIL FINS
I KNOW ABOUT CLOWN LOACHES, THEIR FINE WHILE THEY ARE THIS SMALL

I'd venture to say that this was caused by your tank being WAY too small.

The first goldifsh alone needs 20 gallons the ten gallons for very other one added.
Fancy goldfish 15 gallons for the first one and ten gallons for every other one added.
They are massive waste producers and need double filteration.

I would rehome them as they grow large and they will die in that size tank.
To be honest they will just be suffering in that tank size.
The spots do they resemble a cauliflower or like a cluster of eggs.
How big are the spots are they the size of a grain of salt or bigger.

again thanks for ur advice but im not contenplaiting how stocked my tank is just how i should treat the spots, they are about 5 -10 mm in diameter and are like fluffy white, im pretty sure its cotton wool fungus

There are numerous anti-fungal medications out there...depends on where you are from. However you decide to treat it, it will be a recurring problem unless you get them into a larger tank.

Do the spots have any redness to them like a circling of red around the edges or a red centre.

Ok.
The reason why they are getting sick in the first place as they are not being looked after properly.
If you can't keep pets to the standard they deserve its best to find them new homes to them that will.
Sorry for having ago but we are just telling you that the you are not keeping them in the proper tank size.

Bacterial med but if water quality bad I doubt the med will do much.
