Cotton Mouth/foam

Well i havent confirmed it but i think my cory's have cotton mouth, 2 out of the 3 have what appears to be whitish sort of fungus maybe above there mouths. They seem to be acting completely normal, no loss of apetite, active as ever, completely normal behaviour.

All readings are normal, except for a slightly hightened Nitrate level, which i balanced out with a water change, the level was still safe however.

Aswell when i applied melfix im not sure if it happened before or after, i noticed foam forming on the surface of the water, now earlier that day it wasnt there, i just noticed a few minutes after adding melfix, so im not sure if its some kinda reaction to the meds.

Anyone can fill me in, id appreciate it, thanks.

If you peel back the label on the melafix or maybe its on the back label it says may cause some foaming. This doesn't happen when I put it in but is nothing to worry about.

I hear mixed reports about Melafix especially on here but it always seems to work for me, or at least the 1 time my black mollies got mouth fungus it cleared it up very quickly.

Don't forget to dose daily though. Melafix is natural so it doesn't need water changes in between like normal medications.

Thanks yeah i used melfix before but dis-continued after 3 days when my shark died, i see it might of been a mistake, ok good to get a fast response thanks.

I'd wait for some more responses before taking my word on Melafix because as I said there are a lot of differences of opinion on the effectiveness of this product. Some saying it is a secondary med and should beused after Pimafix.

I wouldn't use the melafix mouth fungus columnaris can soon rot the mouth away.
Whats your location.
Melafix on columnaris is only good when you use pimafix with it.

Ah and the foam has cleared up, in a few minutes, appeared to be some kinda reaction with mel.
