I'm in the planning stages of adding about 4 or 5 angelfish to my 55 gallon live planted tank, and I need to take some fish out before I do.

Here's the stocking list;

5 Dwarf Neon Rainbows

4 Honey Gouramis

13 Neon Tetras

8 Aeneus Cory Cats

I know I have too many cories and was thinking about taking out 4 of them.....but they are the hardest fish to catch in this tank (I've already tried). Isn't there something I could "trap" them with instead of having to disrupt the roots of my beautiful plants and take them all out again (I just replanted/moved them once already)? :/

I was thinking of maybe a clear glass at the bottom, and putting some wafers in there for them? Then maybe putting a net over the front before they get out....and bring that out of the tank? :hey:

Any other ideas?

Thanks for the replies. I think I'm gonna try the cup thing first. But I've also decided to take out the rainbows and gouramis which may or may not prove to be too difficult with the plants rooted and may have to take them out anyway.

I don't know at this point if I'll just take out the neons yet or not. Good angelfish are difficult to find here locally, and I happened upon the perfect ones I wanted....and were actually healthy too. I got 4 of them and they're in there now. They're not big enough to eat the neons at this very moment.....so again don't know what I'll do with the neons....take them out now or wait.

They sure do look great schooling around in there with the angels. ;)

if the angels are small u can wait.and all the fish u start with will seem ok if u just add the angels
